The Cognacq-Jay Hospital is a private non-profit institution that participates in the public hospital service. It does not have an emergency room, but receives patients sent from other healthcare institutions and provides specialized follow-up services in lymphology, infectious diseases, orthopedic rehabilitation as well as palliative care. In 2012, it will begin to receive patients in a new polyvalent follow-up care unit, for convalescence after a stay in a surgical or medical service.
Hospitalized patients are generally Parisians or residents of the Paris region. Only the lymphology unit receives patients coming from the rest of France. A preliminary outpatient consultation is performed in order to assess whether or not to hospitalize the patient.
